![]() Trampoline Class I Hours: Description: Trampoline II Class Hours: Description: About the Instructor, Rand Wilson Growing up with a trampoline in the back yard and having a father who was an NCAA trampoline champion, collegiate gymnastics coach and gymnastics & trampoline club owner, it is not surprising that Rand Wilson paved his own path to elite status in the sport of trampoline. Early on, in addition to competing on Toms River High School North varsity gymnastics team, he was also NJ State and Regional champion competing in trampoline, synchronized trampoline, and double mini trampoline. After high school, and upon graduation from ALT'S Gymnastics Teachers Academy, Rand worked for Shore Gymnastics in Point Pleasant as Boys Program Director and Head Coach as well as Assistant Coach for the girls' gymnastics team along with his dad, Glenn Wilson. In 1980, he accepted a position as Trampoline Program Director with Alt's Gymnastics, inc. in Princeton. There Rand coached State and Regional Champions as well as National and International competitors 2 of which competed at World Age Group Championships in Kanazawa, Japan. Rand's personal competitive achievements include medals form World Games, Senior National, North American and USA Grand National Championships. His finest accomplishment was securing a spot on the USA Trampoline Team in 1982 and 1984, where he received a silver team medal at the World Championships in Bozeman, MT on double mini tramp and placed 16th individually. Rand ended his competitive career at World Championships in Osaka, Japan ('84) where he placed 28th on trampoline and 14th in synchro. As a teacher, Rand believes safety procedures and teaching progressions are the absolute priority. Learning how to prevent injury while performing builds greater confidence while developing a keen, finely tuned level of concentration. Rand currently lives in Toms River, NJ with his wife Lynne of 25 years and their two children, Ryan 22 and Nicolette 17. He is a self employed siding and window contractor (26 years), now also, teaching trampoline part time in clubs throughout NJ.
